Stephanie started ringing when she was 12 years old, at her local tower in Otford. It took her around 6 months to learn to handle a bell and ring in rounds, then a further couple of months for call changes and plain hunt. Overall, Stephanie was competently ringing within 18 months.
Stephanie then started to explore other towers on practice nights and was shortly introduced to the Kent Young Ringers group. A few years later, when she turned 16, a member of the Lilliputters Guild reached out to her, and her brother, asking about whether they both wanted to attend a Summer Tour in Poole, Dorset. The friends made on this trip were certainly made for a lifetime!
2019 rolled around very quickly after this and the team of Kent Young Ringers were taken up to Liverpool for the RWNYC. This was an amazing weekend for Stephanie, and the team she was part of, as they succeeded in first place for Call Changes!
Unfortunately, COVID then hit which took a huge toll on Stephanie's ringing (as well as a lot of others as well).
In addition to many practices in her area after this event had passed, and outings in different parts of the country, Stephanie was up to ringing Surprise Major and Royal, and even a few peals here and there which has led her up to present day and lots more fun and special opportunities to look forward to.
